• Math: This week in math students will use the counting on strategy to subtract two numbers within 20. Lesson 3 math test will be on Monday, September 15th

• Domain: Students will finish listening to Fables on Monday. Tuesday, students begin a science lesson learning about the human body systems. Students will learn about bones and muscles this week. Please review the vocabulary words on the parent guide nightly to help prepare your students for the end of unit test.  

• Writing: Our “Secret Student of the Day” writing  is continuing to go well!  The exclamation mark at the end of our sentences has been introduced to show excitement.  The students are enjoying being a Star Student each week!

• Letterland: Students will learn to sort words according to the rhyme patterns -op, -ot, -ock.  Spelling test will be Friday September 12th.

•  Reading:  We will continue Skills Unit 1 which is a review of kindergarten skills.  Students will blend and segment words, review sister sounds and diagraphs (team sounds) and learn to identify nouns.  Our 1st Reading Comprehension Passage assessment will be on September 17th.
