Meet Mrs. Powell

I was born and raised in Cleveland County. I graduated from Gardner-Webb University in 2004 with a degree in Psychology. I was studying to be a school counselor, but eventually decided I wanted to be in the classroom full time. I went back to school as I was working as a first grade assistant and received my K-6 teaching license and continued to obtain a Masters in Education from UNCC in 2009. I have taught 2nd grade for one year and 3rd grade for 3 years in Cleveland County Schools. This is my first year back to teaching, after 8 years of staying home with my daughter and son. My son Luke will be in first grade this year and my daughter, Lila, will be in fourth. Teaching is a true passion of mine and I have missed it so much! I am so excited to be back and especially at PCA in 1st grade with your child!

I live on a farm in Belwood with my husband, Drew, our two children, 4 chickens, and newest addition...Butterscotch the bunny!
