What is the Math Initiative? How is it graded?

*Math Initiative runs from Monday to Sunday*

Students are given the following 5 items in math each week:

• 3 Green Lights on www.reflexmath.com

  • Students may only earn 1 green light per day

  • This is a completion grade and CANNOT be made up

  • Grading is as follows:

    • 3 green lights = 100

    • 2 Green lights = 80

    • 1 green light = 60

    • 0 green lights = 40

• 2 Passed Path Lessons on iReady

  • Students are required to PASS two of their math “My Path” lessons per week. (iReady will tell them if they have passed the lesson when completed)

  • The grade is a completion grade, and CANNOT be made up.

  • Grading

    • Two Passed Lessons = 100

    • One Passed Lesson = 75

    • No passed Lessons = 50

*STUDENTS WILL BE GIVEN 20-30 MINUTES THREE TIMES A WEEK TO WORK ON THIS IN CLASS*
