Fiction story - Google Slide presentation due. This is a pair activity for which your children have been given guidelines on Thursday, September the 12th of 2019.

Fiction story: Due Monday, September the 30th

The boat on which you and your best friend were traveling on has run out of fuel and you landed on an Island. Once on the island you find that the people living there live in a very rudimentary way. They walk for miles to get water, hunt and fish for days to feed themselves, sometimes living their families behind with almost no food until they return.

One day you and your friend have an idea that you know would improve greatly the lives of everyone living on the Island. Write about this idea. When writing this descriptive fiction story please make sure to present the following points:

In the introduction, you will:

  1. Explain how the population you are trying to help was living and why you felt it needed to be improved

In the development, you will:

  1. Present the circumstances in which you and your friend imagined that idea: when, how and why this idea came up.
  2. What are you trying to achieve?
  3. How did you implement it: what tools did you use? Who helped you?
  4. Describe your characters: were they anxious, excited, calm, agitated…?
  5. What results did you get? Was the idea a success while it was developed? If yes, why? If no, why?

In the conclusion you will present:

  1. How did coming up with this idea made you feel?
  2. What did you get from that experience?

Inside your story:

  • you need to use:
    • At least one word from the list of words built around ‘bio’, studied in class.
    • At least one word from the list of words built around ‘vit / viv’ studied in class.
    • One word to choose from: rudimentary, launch, reputation, convey, infamous.
  • Create a sentence that illustrates the use of an analogy of the type that you choose to (likeness, object, purpose,etc.).

  • You may insert:
    • Pictures to illustrate your presentation (characters and other type of pictures…)

Attention:

  • Make sure your sentences are correct: a subject, a verb and an object
  • Give as many details as possible: colors, material, time frame, etc…
  • Be precise.

This is how your paper will be graded:

  1. The paper presents 3 parts: An introduction, a development and a conclusion: 10 Points
  2. Grammar: 10 points
