The character trait for the month of May is Pride.
The 2024-2025 school calendar is attached below.
Rising 7th graders - Attached below is the immunization requirement letter that will impact students rising into the 7th grade for the 2024-2025 school year.
May 14th- There will be a meeting in the band room on Tuesday, May 14, for students and parents who are interested in the opportunity to learn an instrument and/or play in the band. Mrs. Owens will be showing 5th graders instruments during their weekly music classes the week before the meeting, so they will have some idea of what they would like to do. We will also discuss the summer band camp at this time. There will be a representative from Music & Arts present to assist with instrument rentals and/or sales, books, and other supplies. Saturday, May 18th - The PCA NHS Relay for Life team is sponsoring a luminaria drive to raise funds for the American Cancer Society through Friday, May 10.
If you would like to honor a loved one who is surviving cancer or remember someone who has lost the battle, please complete the attached form, and return to Mrs. Welch with your donation. (I also have forms in my classroom - let me know if you need one!)The luminarias will be displayed at the Cleveland County Relay for Life event on Saturday, May 18 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Dover Foundation YMCA in Shelby.
Suggested donation is $10 per bag, but you can make a tax-deductible gift of any amount. You may pay by cash or check (please make payable to PCA and put “Relay for Life” on the memo line). You will receive a receipt for your donation. You may also donate online by clicking here.

June 30th - Band Camp registration has started. The form is attached below with information. Registration and payment are due by June 30th.
PE will be outside often. Students are encouraged to bring a water bottle and an extra pair of shoes. It is also recommended to bring a small, separate bag for dirty shoes.
Every Friday will be School Spirit Day. Students may wear PCA spirit wear tops (athletic eagle logo) with uniform bottoms on Fridays. Please note: Norris Merchandise is selling some PCA items with hoods - these items are NOT approved spirit wear. Per the dress code, students may not wear hoodies or hooded jackets inside the building at any time.
Cell phones and all other personal electronic devices (including but not limited to smartwatches, MP3 players, personal computers/laptops, video games, tablets, etc.) are NOT allowed at school during the school day. Any personal electronic device found during the day will be confiscated. Refer to the school website for the entire technology policy.
Dress Code Reminder: Make sure students are following the school dress code. Please remember that students may not wear hoodies or hooded jackets inside the building at any time. Please make sure that all student clothing, including jackets, coats, shoes, and socks, conforms to the dress code. Refer to the school website for guidelines. If violations occur, teachers/staff will issue a written notice of uniform violation that must be signed by the parent and returned to the school.
