At Pinkwell, we use a graduated response to identify how we would implement our support:
Stage 1- we would look to support your child in class. Working alongside the class teacher, we would offer extra support to aid your child’s emotional needs.
Stage 2- should the supports implemented at stage 1 not be enough, we would then move onto stage 2. This would still involve the class teacher but it would look at what specialist support we can put in place within the year group. This could be a mini intervention.
Stage 3- This would be when the SENCO would become involved. We would observe your child and then look at what extra supports we could put in place e.g. ELSA- Emotional Literacy Support Assistant.
Stage 4- Should this not be helpful to your child, we would then look at involving other professionals including the school nurse or our Educational Psychologist.
Stage 5- We would then look to refer to external agencies to support your child’s needs and advice families and the school on advice and guidance of how we can help.
