Nathaniel Polyukhovich has a strong sense of creativity, artistic vision and promise. His potential in the arts is fantastic. He spends many hours outside of school practicing and refining his Adobe Photoshop skills.
Felix Ostman is student of the month because of his exceptional passion and fast technical progress. He is extremely dedicated and serious about his work.
Gweneth Chandler plays trombone and has set a great example with her commendable work ethic and her kindness toward others. She has (on her own accord) been working with a new student and teaching him during her study.
Through her own practicing and hard work, she has greatly improved as a player during the past year.
Emma Cahoon is a valuable member of the F period Intro to Theatre class. While working to improve her own skills she also offers strong suggestions to her fellow performers to encourage them toward improvement. She is thoughtful in reflection and a leader in group work.
Savannah Hoyt is extremely focused and mindful in all aspects of being a student. She is a classroom leader by example. Savannah often comes in two extra class periods a day to work.
Molly Repoza demonstrates self-motivation and determination in all aspects of dance education. Despite an injury, Molly was able to complete and perform a choreographic work that was thoughtful and danced with clear physicality. She works hard at understanding dance history and how it relates to technique. Molly is an excellent role model.
Matthew Qualters is an All-State caliber Saxophonist. He has also demonstrated diligent and skilled work which has resulted in excellent performance in AP Music Theory in written, performance and aural skills.
Mady Guptill is a hard-working and devoted member of the Technical Theatre class and Stage Crew. In Stage Crew, she worked diligently as the Props Head for the Pinkerton Players' recent production of The Laramie Project. In class, she strives to continue improving her theatrical skills, while eagerly learning new ones, and is always willing to participate and help out her fellow classmates.
Isabella Householder is a visual artist whose drawings range from realistic representations of still life set-ups to meticulous pen and ink renderings of mandalas. She works hard to achieve a level of excellence in her work and she is a wonderful role model for her classmates.
Rhiannon Emerson submitted an outstanding response to Mocean Dance’s performance of Sable Island. She works hard at hearing and incorporating feedback into her technique class work. Rhiannon is a class leader often helping other students by demonstrating good technique and taking notes for students when they are absent.
Katie Porter is a sophomore music student in the Academy Choir and Select Choir. Katie is always specific, thoughtful, and conscientious when reflecting on her practice sessions and often seen helping other students during her free time. Her excitement toward learning new material, terms, and musical ideas is infectious and we know that she will continue to be an exemplary student in the program.
Aleks Carney, a Derry freshman, has proven to be a classroom leader in her Period H Introduction to Theatre class. Aleks brings a positive attitude to class each day and is dedicated to growing as a theatre student in all areas: acting, directing and stage craft. Aleks is presently studying lines for her lead role in Period H's final performance, "Bad Auditions by Bad Actors.”
Olivia Pierog is a student who exemplifies her love for Art. She is hard working and dedicated, continuously perfecting her crafts and skills as an artist.
Emma Mobley has matured to an inspiring degree both as a dancer and a choreographer. She demonstrates self-motivation and dedication every day in the studio and often contributes much more than asked.
Jason Jarek is a junior guitarist. His talents can be heard around town as Jason regularly performs in various local venues and often volunteers his talents at fundraising activities. Jason has been a class leader in the Intermediate Guitar and Strings course the past three years assisting newer musicians and teaching others about music theory and blues. Jason continues to work on his skills through lessons in jazz and online learning.
Rylee Burke has infectious enthusiasm and seemingly endless energy. She is a classroom leader demonstrating consistent participation and insightful feedback. She is always eager to fill in for absent students and works very hard on her own work. Rylee approaches her theatre class with a great mix of a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, a sense of compassion for others, and a love of fun.
Sierra Evans was always focused and engaged during Drawing and Watermedia class. She worked consistently all semester to improve her drawing and painting skills. Sierra’s Georgia O'Keeffe inspired watercolor painting was selected and displayed as the background for the January 11th Concert Dance Company Winter Performance titled, Inspired by Women.
Cheyenne Davichik is passionate about dance and is eager to apply all she has learned in New Dance Horizons last semester, in Concert Dance Company this semester. She is enthusiastic about learning the choreography of other students, excited to be choreographing her own work, and looking forward to collaborating with everybody. She is also a member of Dance Club, contributing a piece of choreography to the fourth annual fundraiser performance in April. Her dedication to the form is contagious.
Elijah Balsamo has been doing a great job this year as a member of both Mixed Chorale and Select Chorus. He is also doing solid work in Music Theory. Eli earned a solo in the December Choral Concert, is diligent in his practice, and can always be counted on to do the “right” thing in rehearsal.
Alex Boyle is a four-year member of Stage Crew, working on 10 productions with the Pinkerton Players, and a hard-working student in the Technical Theatre class. He has shown a lot of interest in stagecraft, particularly with lights and sound. He is a diligent worker, whether it's designing a set for A Raisin in the Sun for class, building and painting sets for a production, or gathering and organizing props.
Matthew Flint is a conscientious, dedicated and hard-working student. He spends many extra hours in the studio weekly, often doing more than what is required. Matthew’s art displays excellent craftsmanship with attention to the smallest details.
Elizabeth Morin is a leader in Unified Dance Education. She is a patient problem solver who thinks critically and provides caring support to her peers. Liz is also an active member of Dance Club, choreographing and dancing her work, as well as the work of other students. She is also secretary of the Club.
In all of Ashley’s Cierri’s music classes, which include Women’s Choir, Concert Band, Music Theory, Select Choir and Handbell Choir, Ashley is an incredible role model with a terrific work-ethic. She is always prepared for class and rehearsals, is attentive to detail and her musicianship continues to impress each and every day. Ashley is exactly the kind of student that we want as a member of our music department!
Sydney Steger is a great student with a demonstrated love of learning and willingness to push herself beyond her comfort zone. She is a classroom leader who routinely participates in classroom discussion in insightful ways and who provides respectful and constructive feedback to her fellow students.
Mekayla Shevlin is rarely seen without her digital illustrations and persistently performs above and beyond expectations at the introductory level. She is a new member of the Classical Drawing Club and makes intelligent and thoughtful inquiries as to how her art can evolve.
Alexandra Moorhead is this year's Dance Club Scholarship recipient. She wrote an articulate essay describing how and why dance is in her life and what she intends to do with the scholarship to extend her dance education. She is a dedicated member of Dance Club.
Seneca Moyer is a sophomore flutist and vocalist. She has been setting a stellar example in music classes this year! Her work ethic in Concert Band, Music Theory, Women's Chorus and Hand Bell Choir is exemplary. Seneca is the type of involved, conscientious, self-motivated music student who demonstrates that hard work equals success.
Logan Collins is a devoted student of theatre. He displayed his versatility during this season of the Pinkerton Players by working as the light board operator for The Laramie Project and as crew chief for Anything Goes. In the Technical Theatre class, Logan is always trying to learn whatever new skills he can, and always meets any assignment with a true desire to master new abilities. He is a hard worker, and a talented technician.

Cynthia currently is taking Ceramics IV. She is a bright intelligent young lady. Hard working and is a class leader by example. Cynthia's work ethic is unrivalled she comes into the studio and works two extra class periods each day.
Elizabeth Morin
Now with Concert Dance Company, Elizabeth took New Dance Horizons as a freshman and Unified Dance Education as a sophomore. She also continues to be involved in Dance Club, now as Vice President. Her work for the Company this semester is proving to be markedly mature, abstract, and thought-provoking. Stay tuned and see her completed choreography later this fall!!

Music Students of the Month Maddy, April and Jesse are our marching band’s drum majors. They began working together back in August at the UMass Drum Major Academy and have continued to lead the ensemble with great confidence and a commitment to excellence. These ladies are ideal representatives of our school and the music department. Come see them and their band in action at the next football game!
Michael Hughes
Michael, a senior, is showing himself to be a valuable member of both the H period Intro to Theatre Class and the B period Musical Theatre Class. Michael is a wonderful team player who is quick to volunteer a comment to enhance conversations and assist in group settings. His teachers say that he is always prepared with lines and work and shows great improvement over his time at Pinkerton. A credit to his own personal work ethic!
