Description: for this project we made a outline in fusion 360 of a soap for someone special. then we printed it out and put a mold around it and made a soap! the guidlines were the project must be 2”- 3” in diameter and 1”- 1.5” tall, and You need to keep an up-to-date portfolio to document the entire journey from idea creation to the final product.
Brainstorm: for my soap, i decided to do my close friend, Alexandra, and I thought of all her favorite things, deit coke and doordash, and put it onto my model in fusion 360. The tagline, "Carols loves you!" is an inside joke about her door dasher named Carla.
it took me alot of trial and error to get the sizing of the tracing right.
S: the strength of my work was probably my willingness to adapt, when the sizing would not work, and it kept floating for some reason.
O: there could have been some improvment in the placement of my mold, like I probably couldove added another thing if i completly utilized the space.
U: I really learned how to use all the fusion 360 tools, and manage my time
L: I faced alot of limitations, one being having to restart the who sketch process multiple times because it was either floating or the wrong size
Wiscr: i often was an insightful and critical thinker because i had to deal with re-doing the diet coke part over and over again BECAUSE IT WAS FLOATING
CAD and Prototypes: I used Fusion 360 to do my project. To begin, I made the base wich my designs would lay on. then, I imported the the sketch a door dash logo to Fusion 360. Then, using the line tool, I traced the lines using dot-to-dots. Then i did the same thing with the diet coke logo and the emoji. Then, I extruded each section. After I figured out how to get the diet coke logo to stop floating, I printed out my first prototype using a 3-D printer. i only printed twice until the model was perfected and so I added plastique over the mode to make the mold for the soap. Then We added in the soap, mine with the color pink and vanilla scent and waited for it to harden. then we popped out the soap and volia!
