Description: In this project, a group of 4 to 5 build the tallest structure they can using recycled straws and 2 ft masking tape. It must be sturdy and stay up for one minute, it can only touch the floor.
Brainstorm: We were thinking of making a pyramid with four "long straws" (straws stuck in other straws to a make a longer straw). T
Procedure:
Build a square base
Create 4 "long straws"
attach the end of the "long straws" to the base and the other ends together
SOUL Reflection:
S - Strength:
We had good teamwork and held the structure up while others taped things down and added straws
O - Opportunity:
Our ideas were conflicting and this caused us to argue about how we should build the structure
U - Understand:
We realized that our base was not big enough and the structure wasn't tall enough so we added a long straw at the top, however that caused the structure to be very unstable.
L - Limitations:
The straws are very bendy
There was not enough tape to firmly stabilize all the straws
Our base was to small and didnt support the structure enough
WISCR: We thought criticly about how to make it stand and were respectful of each other's ideas.
We added a long stick on the top becuase it wasn't tall enough.
