Why is History Important??

Knowledge of the way people have lived and of the way events have shaped our lives helps us understand the world of the present. E Pluribus Unum is the nation’s motto: Out of Many, One. As the United States moves towards future, we face new issues of diversity, patriotism, and individual rights. It is my hope that you will emerge from this course with an enjoyment of history, a broad knowledge of United States history sufficient enough to feel an enhanced understanding of the role of the United States in today’s world.
