COVID-19 has impacted many lives and is an intense focus of current research. This pandemic has undoubtedly had effects on mental health due to many factors including unpredictability, uncertainty, inactivity, limited access to basic services, increased access to food, alcohol, and online gambling, isolation and decreased family and social support. It is extremely important to always be aware of mental health not only because it can directly affect physical health, but it is also essential to everyday functioning. My research is a self-report study conducted as a survey assessing the impacts of COVID-19’s quarantine on teenagers ages 14-18. I chose to focus on this age group because so many teenagers’ lives are impacted through social interactions. I administered the study to the population of my high school, Pine Crest School, in Florida. The goal of the study is to analyze the effects of quarantining on the emotional well-being and mental state of young people ages 14-18.
