****Arrival Times****:
Returning staffers (if you worked last summer) arrival for training week is 1 pm on May 15th.
New staffers arrival for training week is 3 pm on May 15th.
Orientation arrival is 4 pm on May 20th.
Second half staff arrives back at camp at 12pm on July 1st.
IF PLANNING TO FLY TO CAMP: The easiest way to travel by plane is to get a connecting flight to DFW & then to Tyler Regional Pounds airport & we can send a staffer to pick you up from there. If a flight to Tyler isn't feasible, there will be a lot of staffers driving to Tyler from Dallas (about a 2 hour drive) & you can send a message in the GroupMe to ask to hop in someone's car with them. Please reach out to someone on our full time team if you need help with travel arrangements! We're happy to help!
Departure Times:
Second half staff will be released from Orientation on May 27th around 2:30 pm (you're welcome to spend the night on camp property that night & leave the following morning, you'll be required to if you can't make it to your destination before midnight).
First half staff will be released from first half on July 1st at 9 pm (you're welcome to spend the night on camp property that night & leave the following morning, you'll be required to if you can't make it to your destination before midnight)
Second half staff & full summer staff will be released at the end of the summer on August 5th at 9 pm (you're welcome to spend the night on camp property that night & leave the following morning, you'll be required to if you can't make it to your destination before midnight)
Packing List:
**********NEW STAFF: In order to finalize employment paperwork upon arrival, you will need to bring forms of identification. You can either bring 1) JUST PASSPORT! or 2) a combination of your driver's license + social security card or 3) driver's license + birth certificate (all need to be PHYSICAL/ORIGINAL copies)*****************

Trailblazing (also referred to as Training Week): May 15th-20th
Trailblazing is when all of our specialty training happens! So, if you are getting trained in media, retail, wrangling, health assistant, med shed health assistant, chaos/cook, band, lifeguarding or ropes OR if you just want to come help out with projects & preparing camp property for the summer!
Returners: You will arrive at 1 pm on Monday, May 15th (eat lunch prior to arrival).
New Staff: You will arrive at 3 pm on Monday, May 15th (eat lunch prior to arrival).
You will be released for time off around 5pm on Saturday, May 20th (you will be required to sleep on property during this time off).
***RETURNING LIFEGUARDS: Check your lifeguard certification by going to the Red Cross website & typing in the email address that is used for your Pine Cove account. It will tell you whether or not your certification is still valid. If it is VALID, you do not need to come to trailblazing unless you want to help with projects (there will be a re-cert session during orientation week). If it is INVALID, you need to arrive at camp on May 16th in order to be fully certified for this upcoming summer. Fill out the Invalid Lifeguard Certification form if you are a returner & your certification is INVALID.
Orientation: May 20th-27th
Orientation is mandatory for all staff at Pine Cove! We will see all of you on Saturday, May 20th!
RETURNERS: You will arrive at 4 pm on Saturday, May 20th (eat lunch prior to arrival).
NEW STAFF: You will arrive at 4 pm on Saturday, May 20th (eat lunch prior to arrival).
You will be released for time off (or going home if you are a 2nd half staffer) around 2:30 pm on Saturday, May 27th.

Reminder that the deadline to request for time off is April 1st. You can put your request in this Summer 2023 Exceptions form. We will follow-up to confirm or deny your request for an exception by the end of April.
