The Wearables:
Theme Night clothes (see drop down tab - we go HARD on theme nights so be creative!) Also you will be running around and having fun, so think of that when preparing for theme night! Some staff go hard for dinner and then throw on a shirt that fits the theme for the actual game/program planned! Do what you will with it!
Rain jacket
T-shirts (enough to get you through a 7 day week, 10-12 is usually plenty) - Stay away from white (#rain/work crew) and V-necks.
Don't pack your very best of your best shirts, you will be in the bog this summer and your clothes will get dirty and a couple of them will probably get stained (work crew vibes whoop)
2 Pair of khaki sorts with belt loops for Opening and Closing Day (appropriate length of 4-5 inch seam and loose fit)
Spandex to wear under the khakis
Athletic shorts for every day (appropriate length (4-5 in. seam and loose fit) - you will thank us when you're in a harness!
Jeans - required for wranglers every day (optional for nice night or off days)
Boots - required for wranglers every day
1 brown or black belt (for Opening and Closing Day)
Cute clothes for nice night or off days
2-3 Sundresses (wide straps or sleeves and no cleavage/back showing)
Cute top with shorts/pants/skirts (appropriate length)
Sandals/Birkenstocks/etc. allowed this night only
2 closed toed athletic shoes
Hat/Sunglasses (TX sun is no joke)
Shower shoes - flip flops or chacos
Undergarments
Socks, socks, socks, SOCKS!
2 Modest 1-piece swimsuits (always worn with shorts)
Pajama's (shirt and bottoms worn every night)
Watch (Apple watches are not allowed, unless approved by Director)
Crocs - don't need them but you will love em
A sweatshirt or two is always nice if you are cold natured. Certain program staff like cooks, health assistants, and media will be inside more often so it can be nice for that!
The Bedding:
Twin size sheets and bedding, or a sleeping bag if you prefer
Pillow
Extra blanket if needed
Mattress padding if needed
The Bathroom:
Shampoo/conditioner
Soap
Face wash
Deodorant!!!!
Toothbrush/tooth paste
Razor/shaving cream
Lotion
Hair dryer/straightener/etc.
Hair ties/bobby pins/etc.
Portable shower totes prove helpful to carry your stuff to/from the bathroom and stay organized
two towels (will need at least one for shower and one for pool/lake)
The Random:
Decorations for cabin (pictures/scripture/etc to hang up, sign for door, string lights, etc.) Not necessary but prove to be fun. Counselors - you will move cabins each week so don't over think it!
Stamps/envelopes
Paper, pens, scissors, tape, a sharpie
A folder to keep the paper/handouts together!
Addresses of friends/family back home
Storage containers (to fit under bed) and/or plastic drawers. Most staff driving pack in drawers for convenience and to save space
Alarm clock - You will not be able to use your phone
Phone charger (for off time)
Backpack!!
Flashlight
Water bottle
Sun screen
Leave in conditioner if you will (lifeguards lol)
Bug spray
Laundry detergent/dryer sheets - You will do your own laundry every weekend. If doing laundry near camp, it is always helpful to have some quarters. If doing laundry in Katy or Austin, there are places that allow a swipe!
Dirty clothes bag
Duct tape can come in handy
Hand sanitizer
Chap stick
CD Player/iPod (not phone) with Christian music only to play in your cabin - optional
A school shirt that you would want to trade is always fun!
Flavoring for water, emergency C packets, energy drinks (whatever you like)
Medicine (it will be turned in but available for you at any time)
Snack if you a hungry girl
For Orientation week, 2nd half staff will only need to pack theme night clothes for Rumble in the Jungle
