Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to STEM Summer Academy at Pine Bush High School. The purpose of this letter is to inform you of the expectations and format of this summer academy. I hope you find this information helpful in preparing you for the successful completion of this program. This summer you will be learning about the following topics:
UNIT 1: STEAM Careers
UNIT 2: Engineer Design Process
UNIT 3: Underwater ROV’s
UNIT 4: Rockets
UNIT 5: Manufacturing and 3D printing: Fishing Lures
UNIT 6: CNC Waterjet, Laser cutter, and MIG Welding
UNIT 7: Boats and Buoyancy
Dates:
Week 1 Monday - Friday June 29th - July 3rd
Week 2 Monday - Friday July 6th - July 10th
Week 3 Monday - Thursday July 13th - July 16th
Field Trip: Friday July 10th 5:45AM - 9:00PM
Boat Races: Wednesday July 15th 1:00-2:30pm
Graduation: Thursday July 16th at 8:00 AM
Supplies:
Lunch OR School can provide lunch daily
Water Bottle
Your academy shirt on your body
Tan/Black shorts or pants
Closed toed sneakers/workboots
Uniforms:
Academy T-Shirt will be issued on the first day of the academy.
Students must provide their own tan/black shorts/pants. NO leggings or sweatpants.
Sneakers or workboots only, no flip flops or sandals of any kind.
Attendance Policy:
Upon the third absence students will be dismissed from the academy, no exceptions.
Grading Policy:
30% Assignments
40% Projects
30% Participation
Transportation:
You must provide your own transportation. We will provide a shuttle bus from Circleville Park to PBHS and back.
7:15 AM from CVMS to PBHS.
3:00PM from PBHS back to CVMS
Parents/Guardian must sign a release form for the shuttle bus to and from CVMS/PBHS

Period 1: 7:30 - 9:00 Block 1
Period 2: 9:15 - 11:50 Block 2
Period 3: 12:00 - 12:30 Lunch
Period 4: 12:30 - 1:00 SH
Period 5: 1:00 - 2:45 Block 3
Bus Pick up at 3:00
