Jazz Band

Rules and Expectations

1. Absences from practice must be prearranged and approved by Mr. Bangert.

2. An excused absence from school is an excused absence for practice.  (If you are well enough to come to school, you are well enough to come for jazz band practice.)  If you have excessive excused absences, you may be dropped from the group.  Please call or text Mr. Bangert if you know you will not be at rehearsal (217-242-6985).

3.     Please join the jazz band remind by texting @saukeejazz to 81010.

4. If you have two unexcused absences from practice, a letter will go home explaining that after the third unexcused absence, you will be dropped from the group.

5. Practice starts at 7:00 am on Mondays and Fridays that we have school.  Please arrive on time.  Excessive tardiness may result in dismissal from the group.

6. If you are ineligible, you cannot perform with the group until you are removed from the list. 

I am really looking forward to another great year.  I have high expectations for this year.  In addition to the school concerts, the jazz band will also participate in IHSA organizational contest.  The annual jazz band tour is scheduled for May 9th, 2025.
