According to the American Association of School Librarians (AASL), "The school library program is not confined by the school library walls, but rather, with the use of technology and online resources, connects to the community and branches throughout the entire school. The school library program provides the mechanism for students to access the resources they need 24/7, whether in the library, in the classroom, or in the student’s home. "
The Middle School of Piedmont Library Media Center seeks to move within and beyond the physical library space to empower students to become critical thinkers, effective and ethical users and producers of information and ideas, and lifelong readers and learners.
We strive to promote information literacy to equip students to become productive members of a diverse global society.
