We at Piece by Piece Movers are experience professionals with a track record of excellence. Some people prefer to have extra piece of mind when their items are in transit. Here are some Frequently Asked Questions about moving valuation options.
What if something is damaged during my move?
Piece by Piece Moving and Storage is only liable to pay 60 cents per pound for damaged items. We do offer supplemental valuation. To read more about the types of valuation we offer please click the link below.
What is Valuation?
For explanation purposes, valuation is like “insurance.” However, this is not a correct legal definition, as it is technically carrier’s legal liability. This is an agreement between the mover and the customer. Options A, B, and C are valuation options. These options are detailed below and on the Bill of Lading (contract). We also recommend calling your insurance agent, as sometimes rental or homeowners’ insurance policies are sufficient.
What items are not covered?
Items packed by the customer or not properly disassembled, furniture made of particleboard, also known as pressed board or glue board, internal electronics, ready-to-assemble furniture are not covered.
