The University of Napoli "Federico II" has been established in 1224 by the founder Frederick II. It is the world's oldest public university and one of the world's ten oldest universities in continuous operation.
The conference is hosted in Guarino room. This is an historical place, named in honour of Antonio Guarino. He (Cerreto Sannita, 1914 – Naples, 2014) was an Italian jurist, magistrate, lawyer, and politician. He was primarily known as a scholar of ancient Roman law. He taught for over thirty years at the University of Naples “Federico II”, holding the position of professor emeritus. Among other activities there are: he worked long time with Rai; he was an academic of the Lincei; he was a member of Parliament as a senator; he was awarded the «Gold Medal for merit in the school of culture and art, an honor conferred by the Presidency of the Republic».
🏛️ The Federico II University, the oldest secular university in the world, officially begins the celebrations of the 800th anniversary of its establishment.
🔷 The University celebrates this great achievement together with its students, the city, and the country with a view to international inclusion.
🗓️ It opens on Monday 13 November 2023 with the inauguration of the eight hundredth academic year in the presence of the President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella.
🎓 Honorary degree to Andrea Bocelli on the 14th and a packed calendar with scientific dissemination days, initiatives organized by students, music, sports, cultural tours, permanent installation,s and a constant look to the future.

Capodichino Airport: you can take the Alibus, which brings you at the train station in around 15 min.

Napoli Centrale (Piazza Garibaldi): there are three ways to reach us: Public Transport, Taxi, Walk.

🚕 Taxi
From the train station you can find outside several taxi drivers. The distance is around 3 minutes and they can charge you maximum 10€ (depending on traffic). For more info, click here.
🚇 Public Transport
From the train station you can take Metro, Linea 1, direction "Piscinola". There are only two stops to get off: Duomo - Università. The metro ticket costs 1.30€. You can buy it directly in the metro station at the machine or some reseller insde the train station, or you can even "tap and go" by credit card, or you can download the app "UnicoCampania" (see BIGLIETTI on this website, for more details).
👣 Walk
It is far 1.4 km walking distance from the train station. It takes you around 19 minutes.
