Overview
Following a public talk on 19 Jan 2026 at NCHU Library, this mini-workshop will be held on 20 Jan 2026 with Prof. Brian Schmidt, 2011 Nobel Laureate in physics, renowned for his pioneering contributions to observational cosmology.
The Universe is not quiet—it is filled with spectacular explosions and flashes of energy, including supernovae, fast radio bursts, and signals from colliding black holes.
This mini-workshop aims to explore what causes these dramatic cosmic events and what they can tell us about the Universe.
With Prof. Brian Schmidt, we will also look ahead to future telescope projects in Taiwan and how they will allow us to see the Universe in new ways.
