BRNS-IANCAS 2024

As a part of the outreach program, IANCAS, with support from BRNS, conducts Workshops on “Radiochemistry and Applications of Radioisotopes” at various Institutes. IANCAS successfully conducted the 105th National Workshop in September 2022 at SKB University, Purulia, West Bengal. This is the 106th IANCAS workshop which aims to provide a forum for mutual interaction among faculty members and scientists from various educational institutions and research organizations at SVNIT. Eminent scientists and specialists in nuclear physics, nuclear chemistry, nuclear reactors, production and application of radioisotopes, and health and safety aspects will be the resource persons of the Workshop. The lectures will be supplemented by laboratory experiments for the benefit of the participants.

The Institute was initially established as Sardar Vallabhbhai Regional College of Engineering & Technology in 1961 and was upgraded to the National Institute of Technology in 2002. It is one of the pioneering engineering institutions in the country, which has contributed to many outstanding engineers in India and abroad. To impart high-quality technical education to meet the global needs in the present competitive world, special attention is being given to interdisciplinary research. The institute has highly qualified faculty members who actively engage in teaching and research.

The Department of Physics of SVNIT is one of the leading departments in terms of research. The department supports all undergraduate and postgraduate students by providing them with a firm foundation in physical sciences through state-of-the-art teaching by offering them basic and advanced courses on physics. The Department has made its mark at the national and international level with several externally funded research projects, national-level awards, and research collaborations across the country and globe.
