COVID 19 Concerns

I know each of you might be a bit anxious about coming back to school in person. Below you will find the guidelines that will be put into place in the orchestra room in order to keep us all safe. I cannot wait to see you, interact with you, and start making music together again!

  • Students will be sat in rows facing the same direction, not a semi-circle.

  • Students will be sat as far apart from each other as possible.

  • Every student will use their own stand.

  • Students will each use their own music binder. No sharing of music or music stands.

  • Classroom rosin will no longer be available for student use. Cello and Bass players should place their cake of rosin in their 3 ring binder. Violin and Viola players may continue to keep their rosin in their instrument case.

  • We will not use shared tuners. Students are asked to purchase a Snark Tuner and place it in their orchestra 3 ring binder. The Snark should be brought to class everyday.

  • Students will need to have a pencil in their 3 ring binder. There will no longer be a basket of community pencils available.

  • School cellos and basses will be provided for each student. No cellos or basses will be shared between students.

  • Chairs and stands will also be wiped down and sanitized between classes. Ample time will be given at the end of class for proper cleaning procedures.
