I. Product Offerings
Q: Which SIM card should I get?
We recommend you select the one that has a stronger network signal connection in your area.
Q: How does this package differ from last year’s package?
SMART: students can now use up to 34 GB in one month
4GB/mo, of open data access, and
1GB/day for GSuite for Education (versus before: 10GB of GSuite/mo)
GLOBE: with our improved 10GB allotment:
8GB/mo now granting open access(*) (vs last where there were only certain whitelisted apps and sites allowed)
And still got the 2GB/mo for Youtube and Facebook
*The following sites are blocked: TikTok, Netflix, Hulu, Hooq, Tribe, Nba, DisneyLife, Cartoon Network, Fox+, iFlix, Twitch, iWantTv, Amazon Prime Video, Cinetropa, HBO Go, Viu, Crunchyroll + adult content
II. Logistics/Ops
Q: When and how can I get my SIM card?
The distribution of SIM cards has started, and we encourage you to come to the school according to posted distribution schedules. We hope to complete distribution of all SIM cards by August 15. If it is not possible for you to come to school, please fill up HERE to request delivery. While you are waiting for your school SIM card you may temporarily join your Google Classrooms using your own internet connection.
Q: May I change SIM during the semester or school year?
No. We will only allow 1 SIM card per school year. You can change your SIM card next year.
No. You don’t need to get a new SIM card.
Q: Can I just use my personal SIM card to avail of the PHINMA Education data packages?
No. You need to use the PHINMA issued SIM card.
Q: I lost my SIM card! What should I do?
You may apply for a new SIM card to replace the lost SIM by filling up HERE. Please note that there will be a Php50 replacement fee.
III. Data
Q: When will packages take effect?
New plans will be effective by August 1 for both Networks
For those with old PHINMA-issued SIM cards--the new plan/package will automatically take effect on your old SIM on August 1 as well
Q: Will the monthly data automatically renew?
For as long as you are enrolled, it is a monthly replenishment of internet subsidy.
Q: What if I fully consume the allotted data before the month ends?
We encourage students to budget and keep to the monthly allocation. Should the allocation be fully-consumed before the next replenishment schedule, you may load up at your own expense.
IV. SIM card Activation
Q: How do I activate my SIM card?
Globe SIM cards, you do not need to do anything because they are pre-activated
For SMART SIM cards, activate by calling *123# and choosing BALANCE/SERVICES, and SIM will be activated shortly.
