Grades K-3 Science

Students will classify objects according to the physical characteristics using sorting techniques in Jamboard to construct knowledge and make connections to the real-world. 

Students distinguish between scientific fact and opinion using SMART activities such as Super Sort or Shout it Out to create and analyze statements.

Students will compare and contrast the states of matter and their attributes using SMART Lumio Graphic Organizers.

Students categorize living and nonliving things by sharing their ideas through response apps (Shout It Out) and engage in discussion to make connections among their contributions.

Students share their knowledge of the effects of season changes on living things by contributing to a collaborative Workspace in SMART Lumio or a shared Google Doc, while demonstrating digital citizenship.

Students collaborate on a digital document such SMART Workspaces, to develop an experiment outline, following the framework of the Scientific Method.

Students collect data on temperature using a teacher-created graph in a SMART Notebook slide (using infinite cloner and gallery pictures) to make inferences about weather patterns.

Students will record data and analyze results for various experiments using Google Sheets to interpret and construct knowledge.

Students curate information to add to interactive digital notebooks in Google Slides to demonstrate their understanding of the senses.

Students compare and contrast the Life Cycle of two animals by creating a poster using Adobe express.
