NCBW Essay Workshop for Students
The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. - PA Chapter invites high school students in grades 9-12 to attend a College Application, Scholarship & Essay Writing workshop on Saturday, February 8th from 9:30-12:30. This event will be held at Drexel's LeBow College of Business (322 Market Street). Students will learn how and when to apply for college, and tips on essays for both college and scholarships. Lindsey Vonn Foundation Scholarship
The Lindsey Vonn Foundation provides enrichment and sport scholarships (up to $5,000) to girls from underserved communities to build confidence, overcome obstacles, and pursue their passions–whether that's academic, sports, or personal enrichment. Penn Towne Chapter of the Links Incorporated Scholarship
The "Follow-Through Scholarship Program" offers a 4-year long, annual award of $6,000 ($3,000 per semester) to deserving students attending an accredited college or university. Students must maintain full-time status and a 2.5 GPA. Applications can be found HERE and must be submitted by April 15th.

NCNW is proud to offer a scholarship for high school seniors in the Philadelphia area who meet the following criteria:
• Resident of Philadelphia County
• High school transcript with grades through December 2024
• 3.0 GPA or higher
• Have applied to a four-year accredited college or university
• Submits a personal statement (300-500 words), including their educational and future goals
• Has 2 letters of recommendation from non-relatives (school personnel, community service organizations, after school programs, church, etc)

Penn Carey Law Program/Scholarship Opportunities for Philadelphia HS Students
This July, Penn Carey Law will offer a number of full scholarships for Philadelphia high school students to attend the Penn Carey Law Pre-College Academy, a three-week program exploring U.S. Law, the legal profession, and topics such as business law, legal advocacy, human rights, and sports/entertainment law. In addition to attending lectures by the law school’s standing faculty, scholarship students receive full admission to the program, covering all activities and materials, as well as housing on campus and most meals during the three-week period (a value of $9,899).
We thought that this scholarship opportunity may be of interest to you and your students. More information about the overall program and scholarship application process can be found on Penn Law’s website. The deadline to submit an application for Summer 2025 is Friday, January 31, 2025.
Beta Delta Zeta Scholarship
For High School Seniors attending a Philadelphia public, private, parochial or charter school: $1,000 - $1,500
Beyond the Spectrum Achievement Scholarship - For High School Seniors attending a Philadelphia public, private, parochial or charter school on the Autism spectrum: $750 - $1,250

Somasundarum Family STEM Scholarship
We are also excited to announce that this year, the American Heart Association is offering a $5,000 Scholarship! The American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women movement and Somasundarum Family developed the Somasundarum Family STEM Scholarship with the goal of bridging the gap between student interests in pursuing a career in a STEM field
(Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and achieving their goals.
Qualification Requirements:
11-12th grade student who will attend this year's STEM Goes Red Event.
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Identifies as Female
U.S. citizen/permanent resident of the U.S.
Applying for funding for the following:
Attendance at a college or university with the intent to major in a STEM-related field
Attendance at a vocational or technical trade institution with a focus on earning a degree/certificate in a STEM-related field

Eligibility: must come from a low-income background; generally, students come from the top 5% of their high school class; undocumented students may apply

Pro tip: apply if your number 1 goal is to get financial aid AND if you’re flexible about which school you go to. E.g. are you open to going to top-ranked Grinnell in Iowa if they give you a ton of money? If so, you’re perfect for this! But if you want an East Coast or West Coast school, this might not be the best way for you to get there.
