Teachers/staff are the first line of support for students experiencing mental health/emotional concerns. If an adult from BLANKENBURG ELEMENTARY SCHOOL has a concern for a student’s emotional well-being, that adult should contact the one of our school counselors, either Scott Seward sseward@philasd.org or Danielle Justice djustice2@philasd.org at 267-405-3421 to discuss the concerns and then the counselor will decide what next steps are necessary..
There are three ways that students can receive counseling support this year:
Scott Seward or Danielle Justice school counselors, can meet with student (virtually until we are back in the building)
Social and Emotional Learning Leader: Eleanor Reese: Erreese@philasd.org
Student can be referred to our SAP assessor at Einstein for an assessment to begin outside counseling
Student can be referred to Intercultural Family Services, Inc to begin outside counseling services or get supports in school when we are back in the building
Counselors will also be addressing behavioral health/emotional health concerns with guidance lessons and groups as needed.
