📍 Philadelphia Episcopal Cathedral, University City (19 S 38th St)
The Philadelphia Freedom Band has two concert bands: Symphonic Band (open to everyone) and Wind Ensemble (audition-only).
Our concert bands holds two concerts annually, one in spring and the other in winter. We present a vast range of music, from classical pieces to pop tunes. Past themes include: Holiday Jawn, Unity in Rhythm, A Compendium of Beasts, The Tonic of Nature, PFB in SPACE, A Musical Feast, and Water is Life.
Rehearsals will recommence Thursday, January 29, 2026.
Our jazz ensemble was re-established in 2023! 🎉 Since then, we have held 3 stand-alone concerts, as well as opening for our concert band. The ensemble plays a mix of jazz standards and new tunes.
Rehearsals will recommence in spring 2026 with weekend "Band Camps" and Monday night practices to be announced.
You can join at any time. We're always welcoming new musicians, color guard members, or volunteers to serve as band aides.
