First Grade Spotlight

Students were exploring the app epic! It provides students with a variety of leveled books which they can read and then complete comprehension questions based off of the text. The app is a great tool which we use to enhance students' reading and comprehension skills.

Mrs. Warnock's class worked with addition strategies using cubes to model the addends. Students were currently working on 3 addend additions.

4th Grade Science

4th grade studied the life cycle of plants, animals, and insects. They were required to explain each stage of the life cycle and tell whether is was a complete or an incomplete metamorphosis. The student enjoyed giving five fun facts about the plant, animal, or insect that they researched! Anna Wisdom presented her Life Cycle project on the Life of an Apple Tree.

Kindergarten Field Trip to Schramm's Farms and Orchards

Kindergarten traveled to Schramm's Farms and Orchards on a perfect fall day. Students participated in a hayride around the farm and each student was able to pick and keep their very own pumpkin. Students were also left with fresh apple cider.

Nazareth Prep Experience

Our 8th grade students had the opportunity to attend Nazareth Prep on October 12 for an Experience Day. Throughout the day, our students explored various sections of their campus lead by a Nazareth Prep student ambassador. Additionally, PHCSE scholars participated in a STEM experiment where teams collaborated to create a boat out of limited materials. The boats were required to float for 30 seconds while holding 60 pennies. Several of our teams succeed!
