Closing Out the School Year Together
Dear PHCSE Families,
As we begin closing out the month of May and preparing for the final days of this school year, I have been spending a great deal of time reflecting on just how much this year has held for our school community. These have not been ordinary days, and in many ways, this has been an unprecedented school year full of growth, transition, challenges, joy, learning, resilience, and moments that reminded us just how important community truly is.
Through it all, our students continued to show up each day learning, growing, creating, persevering, building friendships, finding confidence, and discovering more about themselves and the world around them. That kind of growth only happens when schools and families walk together, and I want you to know how deeply grateful I am for that partnership.
As we also recognize AANHPI Heritage Month, we celebrate the many histories, cultures, traditions, and contributions that continue to shape our communities and country in beautiful and meaningful ways. This month serves as another reminder of the importance of making sure every child feels seen, valued, respected, and connected within the life of our school.
I also want to take a personal moment to simply say thank you. Many of you placed your trust in me this year while we were still learning one another. You trusted me with your children, trusted my leadership, and continued moving alongside me through every season this year brought. I know that trust is not automatic, especially in times of transition, and I do not take it lightly. Being entrusted with the care, education, safety, growth, and daily experiences of your children is one of the greatest responsibilities and honors of my life.
Thank you for your grace, your encouragement, your honesty, your partnership, and your belief in our school community. Thank you for sharing your children with us each day. Even on the hard days, there has been so much beauty in this year, and I am incredibly proud of what our students, staff, and families have accomplished together.
As we head toward summer, I hope your family feels proud of how far your child has come this year. They have grown more than they may even realize.
With sincere gratitude,
Dr. Abriana Leeper
Tiny Talk with AP Titus + Friends,
Is all about catching students in the moment-engaging in short, meaningful conversations about what they're learning in the classroom. The goal is to dive into how students capture and make sense of their learning in real time.
