Volunteer Breakfast

The parent choice committee held our annual Thank You Volunteer Breakfast, on May 24, 2018, as a way of thanking those parents who have helped to make the 2017/18 school year so successful. This year our students created various thank you gifts, posters and songs as a way of thanking parents. Some of the "thank you's" included an Adams Family Thank You song, popcorn, thank you place-mats, thank you chants and thank you cookies. The kids loved preforming for our parents and thanking them in their own special way!

Thank you to all who have helped make this school year so amazing! If it were not for the parents/guardians support, we would not be as amazing as we are! Have a wonderful and safe summer. See you next school year.

- Ms. Dickinson

Field Day

Our Biggest event of the year happened on June 7th, Field Day!!! Our students and staff had a wonderful time playing field games, racing through the inflatable obstacle course, eating popcorn, cotton candy and snow cones, competing in beach volleyball, and just letting loose for the day! Each student received a lei and water bottle to remember the day. Ms Dickenson was our "Cotton Candy Queen", Ms Victor and Mrs Martin held down the popcorn, while Dawn Lacava and Tanielle Deluca handed out snow cones. We hope everyone enjoyed themselves and we look forward to making next year BIGGER and BETTER.

Gettysburg Overnight Trip

Seventh grade students had the opportunity to visit and learn about one of the most historical towns in Pennsylvania, Gettysburg. A tour of the battlefields and monuments helped students learn about the battle of Gettysburg and how it was a turning point for Union soldiers during the Civil War. Students also had the opportunity to explore the Dobbin House, a stop on the Underground Railroad, and experience a ghost tour.

Washington D.C. Trip

Eighth graders embarked on a journey to our nation's capital on May 16th, for a 3 day trip. While in Washington D.C the students had the opportunity to explore the Holocaust Museum and meet a Holocaust survivor, Harry. Students also experienced the African American History Museum, the Smithsonian, Ford's Theater, and Mt. Vernon (The Home of George Washington). The trip would not have been complete though without a visit to the Capitol, the White House, and the various monuments and memorials throughout the city.

PTA

Congratulations to the new PTA Board Members for the 2018-2019 school year! David Houston will take on the role as President. Jessica Dernus - Vice President, Cassandra Harris - Secretary, and Alicia Frady - Treasurer. We look forward to and exciting new year! We are still looking for additional members to join our board. If you are interested, please email us at pennhillscharterpta@gmail.com.

The PTA would like to send a very sincere thank you to a few dedicated volunteers this year. Janelle Franklin, Tanielle Deluco, & Mona Deshong. They spent countless hours at our Book Fair, Holiday Shop, and Field Day helping students. Without our volunteers we can not make these events a success.

Another huge thank you goes out to the PCC Committee for their support. Jessica Zuk, Nicole Dickenson, Shona Brown, Michelle Aron, Danielle Rutter, and Elizabeth Schraven are a huge support system for the PTA. Their guidance and input on events is appreciated and we cannot do it without them.

Thank you to the parents and guardians of our students! With your donations and fundraising we are able to support our PHC students and staff. We were able to donate to the 8th Grade Field Trip, Pennies for Patients, Olweus Walk-a-Thon, and SGA. Funds also supported the PSSA's, 100th Day of School, Classroom Parties, and Teachers and Staff.
