BES music

Welcome to Music at Beach Elementary!  This is my 11th year at Beach, 20th year in the Pascagoula-Gautier School District and 27th year of teaching overall.  Music has always been such a large part of my life from the very beginning. Both of my parents were musicians and they instilled in me a love for music and gave me a wide horizon and appreciation for all types of music, my favorite being Jazz.  I have been involved in school and church choirs since I was old enough to sing and joined the school band in 4th grade.  At the end of my 6th grade year I knew that I wanted to become a band director.  I continued my music education throughout Jr. High, High School and college at The University of Southern Mississippi and achieved my goal of a Music Education degree.  Since then, I have taught in Mississippi, Texas and Louisiana and have taught Band from beginner to high school, Music Appreciation, Fine Arts and Elementary Music.  What I love most about teaching Music is having the opportunity to instill in children the fundamentals of music that will stay with them for a lifetime; things that can touch their soul when nothing else can;  teaching them discipline and structure through artistic freedom and expression.
