Homework

In third grade, homework will come home nightly (Monday-Thursday) for Math, weekly for Language arts (due every Friday), and bi-weekly for Word Study (due on the day of their quiz). Students are also expected to reading for 20 minutes each night for AR (Accelerated Reading). Studying for quizzes and tests for Science and Social Studies is also expected when those come up. Please check over your child's homework each night. No late homework is accepted as we review it each day.

*Language Arts: Week 5 Day 1 - 4 comprehension packet and Read for AR nightly

*Word Study Words

• Green Group = "W" Blends
• Blue Group = Au, Aw, Al in accented syllable
• Orange Group = Adding -ing to words with CVC and CVCC patterns
• Pink Group = j, h, ch digraphs
• Yellow Group= Short U and long U (CVCe and CVVC)

*Math: We have started working on adding and subtracting. Homework this week will reflect extra practice for what we covered in class each day.

*Social Studies: This is not a social studies unit week.

*Science: We are working on Simple Machines. We will quiz on this on Friday, Oct. 4th. Students will be given a study guide to take home on Sept. 30th.
