Welcome to 5th Grade at South Elementary!

Fifth grade is an exciting year full of learning, growth, and preparation for middle school. Our 5th grade team works together to build strong routines, encourage independence, and challenge students to reach their full potential. With four SOL tests at the end of the year, we focus on building confidence and mastery in reading, math, science, and writing — all while keeping learning engaging and fun. We believe every student can succeed with the right support, encouragement, and structure. This year, our goal is to help students grow academically and personally so they’re ready to soar into middle school with confidence!

Mrs. Hull

Hi, I’m Mrs. Hull! I’m so excited to be teaching 5th grade at South. My goal is to create a welcoming space where students feel supported, and encouraged to try, try, try.Together, we’ll make learning fun while also building the skills and confidence students need to shine in middle school.

Mrs. Mae

Aloha! I’m Mrs. Mae. I'm dedicated to creating a positive and engaging classroom where every student feels supported. My goal is to make this a memorable and successful year for your child.

Mrs. Miner

Hi, I’m Mrs. Miner! This is my first year teaching 5th grade, but not my first year at South. I’m excited to create a welcoming classroom where students feel at home and to make learning fun every day!

Mrs. Casey

Hey! I am Mrs. Casey, and I am new to South but this is my sixth year teaching. My goal is to help students discover their individuality! If your child has an IEP, I am your go to contact for the 5th grade.

Miss Bowman

Hi! I'm Miss Bowman. My name might be familiar; my mom has been the art teacher at South for over 20 years! My goal is that by the end of the year, our students will be confident, responsible, and ready for 6th grade!
