Updates for the Week of November 30th

Dear CAPA Families,

We hope you and your family enjoyed a restful and restorative Thanksgiving break. As we return to school, this is always one of CAPA’s most energizing stretches of the year. December brings a full lineup of performances, celebrations, and opportunities for our students to shine. With so many arts areas sharing their work, this month is a perfect reminder of what makes the CAPA experience so special.

Our performance season begins December 8 with the Antithesis/Rock Band Concert at 7:00 PM, followed by our Winter Dance Concert on December 9 and 10 at 7:00 PM. On December 12, we will have a Half Day Dismissal, and our Snow Ball Dance for middle school students will run from 4–6 PM. The next evening, December 13, our high school students will enjoy their Semi-Formal at the Marriott at 7:00 PM.

The music season continues the following week with the Vocal Middle School Concert on December 16 at 7:00 PM, the Vocal High School Concert on December 17 at 7:00 PM, and our combined 6–12 Instrumental Concert on December 18 at 7:00 PM. We will wrap up the month with our Holiday Program for students on December 22, a CAPA tradition that brings the entire school together before winter break.

We look forward to seeing you throughout this month and celebrating the hard work and talent of our students. Thank you for your continued support of CAPA and all that makes our school community thrive.

All Literary students in grades 7–12 (ages 13 and up) will prepare one submission (seniors will submit a portfolio) for the Scholastic Writing Competition. The entry fee for this first piece will be covered by a grant from Friends of CAPA.

Students who wish to submit additional pieces may do so by either paying the Scholastic fee directly or by giving the $10 submission fee to Mrs. Bosser. 

All submissions must be prepared and uploaded by the 5 PM, December 19th deadline. All titles should be submitted in advance to Mrs. Bosser and the Literary Arts instructors.
