Suitland Strength and Performance Lab
Learn the Language • Build the Movement • Train with Purpose
The Suitland Strength and Performance Lab supports supervised strength and conditioning for Suitland student-athletes. Coaches use RAMS MOVE, Suitland's shared movement language, to teach foundational patterns, plan purposeful sessions, and build consistent training habits throughout the year.
How teams use the Lab
Teams use the Lab during approved, coach-supervised sessions. Training is planned around the team's season and the athletes' current needs. Coaches may use the provided weekly workouts or design a session using RAMS MOVE and the Lab's safety expectations.
Student-athletes sign in for each session, follow their coach's instruction, and help return the room to its ready state before leaving. The coach remains responsible for supervision, attendance, reporting concerns, and completing the session closeout.
Shared standards
Learn and use the RAMS MOVE movement language.
Follow the posted Lab Emergency Action Plan and report injuries or equipment concerns promptly.
Unload and reset power racks after use. Return plates with 2.5 and 5 lb at the top, followed by 10, 25, 35, and 45 lb at the bottom.
Rack dumbbells, kettlebells, and medicine balls in numerical weight order. Return accessories, clean required surfaces, and leave walkways clear.
Coach orientation and reservations
Lab reservations are for Suitland coaches who have completed the Coach's Strength Lab Orientation. Coaches receive the request form and the daily student-athlete attendance template through their orientation materials. Submit a request for the desired session time and wait for a separate confirmation; submitting the form does not reserve the Lab.
For a cancellation or change to a confirmed reservation, coaches should contact Dr. Valentine, Coach Smith, Coach Riddick, or Coach Smitty directly. Lab requests are handled separately from Sports Medicine appointments.
