PGCPS PROGRAMS & COURSES OF STUDY
For descriptions of courses and programs offered in PGCPS, click on the following link:
Schedule changes will only be granted for the following reasons:
A graduating senior lacking graduation requirements;
Took and passed a class during summer school/evening/day school;
Have not met course prerequisites;
Authentic, documented health reason;
Adjustment for special/alternative programming (i.e., Work study, Technical/Career Academy, or Concurrent/Dual Enrollment);
Did not select during Spring registration as a primary or alternate course (Registration forms will be verified). No preference changes or teacher changes allowed;
Improper level placement in course (i.e., Honors, SPED, AP: need teacher approval).
The schedule change request form can be found here. Please wait to hear from your counselor after submitting the form. The process can take up to a week or so in some cases. Class changes are subject to availability. Submitting a request for a change does not guarantee a change will be made. No changes will be made after the 20th day of school.
SCHOOL UNIFORM POLICY
Do not wear a hat, skull cap, ski mask, or any head covering unless you have a documented religious or medical reason approved by the school.
If wearing a hoodie (hooded sweatshirt), make sure the hood is down and the garment meets the uniform color requirements (if applicable). Better yet, avoid wearing hoodies during class hours unless the school explicitly allows it on a “dress-down” day.
Bring or wear a plain uniform top in the correct grade-level color (for 9th = White; 10th & 11th = Red; 12th = Black) and khaki bottoms, as required by the Suitland High uniform policy. Prince George's County Public Schools+1
Ensure your backpack is clear, as that is another requirement for Suitland High. Prince George's County Public Schools+1
If you need to wear headgear for religious or medical reasons, you should contact the school to have it approved/documented to avoid disciplinary action.
