Welcome to the Potomac High School Dance program. Provided here is information for students, parents, and any other visitors to learn what is going on in the PHS dance classes and program.

Mission Statement

The mission of Potomac High School Dance Program (PHSDP) is to provide students with a strong technical foundation in dance, as well as instill an appreciation for the cultural diversity, traditions, values, and history associated with dance.

DancE Department Goals

The Goals of the Dance Department are to:

empower students to develop as sense of self as they utilize critical thinking, social, and leadership skills.
educate students on how to properly view dance
create life long supporters and patrons to the dance community

Dance Attire

1 Solid Black Leotards - One leotard must be a tank, and the second leotard style may be personal choice (no low back or low front).
1 Pair of Flesh Colored Convertible Tights - Tights MUST be compatible with the dancer’s complexion. Avoid purchasing tights that may be too light or too dark.

Males:

2 Solid White Fitted T-Shirts
2 Pair of Solid Black Ankle Length or Knee Length “Fitted” Bike Pants/Leggings/Compression Pants or shorts
