The mission of the Tenth Grade Academy is to continue a culture of learning by developing sophomore students into independent, self-advocating, and academically successful scholars by providing structure and accountability in all aspects of student life, emphasizing assessment skills and community service as fundamental aspects of student success.
Increase the academic achievement for all scholars
Provide focused activities to prepare for Standardized Testing (PSAT, PARCC, etc)
Completion of Student Service Learning hours (Community Service)
Further develop scholars for college and career choices
Welcome to another exciting school year! My name is Lindsay Wright . I am the proud Professional School Counselor of the c/o "2027". It is the mission of the Potomac High School Counseling Department to encourage all students to reach their highest academic and personal potential. This newsletter will provide exciting information about what is happening in the counseling department as well as in our school. This school year WE will run Social Emotional Learning (SEL) groups. These groups cover a number of topics including: Grief, Time Management, Social Awareness, Anxiety & Stress, Stress Management, and New-to-District. These groups will be running throughout the school year.
