Practice Hands Separately First
Focus in this order: Correct Notes > Correct Fingers > Steady Performance
Use a Metronome to help keep a steady tempo
A slow & accurate scale is better than a fast & sloppy one
Requirements: One Octave - Hands Together
Choices: [Major: C, G, F] | Harmonic Minor: A, E, D]
Recommended Scales Note: All applicants should be prepared to play C Major!
Beginner: C Major | A Harmonic Minor
1 Year of Lessons: G Major| E Harmonic Minor
2+ Years of Lessons: F Major| D Harmonic Minor
Requirements: Two Octaves - Hands Together
Choices: [Major: C, G, D, F, Bb] | [Harmonic Minor: A, E, D, G]
Recommended Scales:
Beginner: C Major | A Harmonic Minor
Intermediate: G Major | E Harmonic Minor -OR- D Major | D Harmonic Minor (Other Combinations are permitted)
Advanced: F Major, Bb Major | G Harmonic Minor
