2023 HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER LEARNING PROGRAM 

All summer school courses will be held in one of the following formats:

• SESSION ONE: PGCPS Edgenuity-Based Courses, Asynchronous Instruction

• SESSIONS TWO & THREE: PGCPS Face-to-Face Synchronous Instruction 

PGCPS Edgenuity-Based Courses

Students enrolled in Session One PGCPS Edgenuity-Based Courses will model the High School Summer Learning Programs policies and procedures utilized throughout the school year. Students will be enrolled in a course with no more than 30-35 students. Students will receive a PGCPS teacher who will support their learning two hrs per day as students continue working on their course throughout the duration of the program. Students must access their course everyday, complete all of the cascaded assignments in their course calendar each day, and complete 100% of their course with a passing grade of 60% or higher. 

PGCPS Face-to-Face Synchronous Instruction

Students enrolled both Session Two and Session Three will receive face-to-face, synchronous instruction from PGCPS content certified teachers. Classes are held Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 12:00pm each day throughout the duration of the summer program. Due to the timeline of the program, students are unable to miss any days of class; attendance is mandatory! The Summer Sites for both Sessions Two & Three are:

student expectations & MATERIALS

1. All students are expected to attend during the designated time frame of your registered program. 

2. Students must arrive on time to their summer location on time and remain in class during the duration of the High School Summer Learning Program. 

3. Students must attend class each and every day. Students who are absent for one (1) or more days will be permanently withdrawn from the High School Summer Learning Program. 

4. Students will be required to complete assignments outside of class time in order to complete their course on time. 

4. Establish daily routines for learning.

5. Identify a space at home where you can focus and complete at-home assignments on time. 

6. Regularly check your PGCPS email for updates every day.

7. Communicate with teacher(s) and Professional School Counselor if you do not have questions/concerns regarding the summer program, student expectations, course registration, etc. 

8. Submit assignments on time.

9. Adhere to the PGCPS Dress Code & Students Rights and Responsibilities handbook. 

10. Materials: Notebook, pens/pencils, charged chromebook.
