On September 30, 2025, the ERHS administrative team issued the first-ever OSS for a staff member — and no, not an Out of School Suspension, but an Out of School Send-Off!
Science teacher Mr. Koch was celebrated for his unwavering instructional support of co-taught classes, the Science Department, and the Environmental Club. Though caught by surprise in the moment, Mr. Koch was deeply appreciative as he received his “You Make a Difference” swag bag and a complimentary day off in recognition of his dedication.
Congratulations, Mr. Koch, and to all the future OSS Superstars! Thank you for making a difference at Roosevelt every day!

In the Moment: When asked about the experience, Mr. Koch joked, “I almost had a heart attack — I thought I was being fired!” He later shared that while the surprise was overwhelming at first, he was touched by the recognition and grateful for the opportunity to recharge.
