Directions: Using what you know about progressions, write a song at least 8 measures long on noteflight with your own melody, harmonizing chords and a baseline using the 4 chords that “ruined pop music”.
I–V–vi–IV : C–G–Am–F (optimistic)
V–vi–IV–I : G–Am–F–C.
vi–IV–I–V : Am–F–C–G (pessimistic)
IV–I–V–vi : F–C–G–Am.
Set-up your Score as "Vocal and Piano". The melody should go on the vocal part and the chords on the treble clef of the grandstaff and a bass line on the bass clef of the grand staff.
The time signature must be 4/4 and not in the key of C.
You can choose any key or rhythmic pattern. *Suggestion-Make each chord a whole measure!
There should be an identifiable cadence by the end of the 4th measure and the end of the 8th measure.
You can add lyrics for 5 extra credit point.
The Progression must make musical sense based on the “progression flow chart” (See Slide 2-3)
