Baltimore Leadership School for Young Women

Hello! We are the Dance Team at the Baltimore Leadership School for Young Women!

The BLSYW Dance Team operates under the P.O.P. Leadership & Sports After School Program. P.O.P. (Play On Purpose) Inc. exists to develop youth through athletics and leadership while fostering an appreciation for education. Ultimately, equipping all young people with the tools to become better scholars, athletes and leaders "on and off the court." We are currently in our second season as a dance team. In 2020, we began our first, full competitive season. Our team also participates in service projects in Baltimore City. As P.O.P. athletes, our dancers put academics first, leadership second, and dance third.

Elizabeth Seton High School

The Elizabeth Seton High School Dance team has become a well-recognized and much sought-after group of talented individuals for their technique, grace, and mesmerizing dance abilities. The Dance Team allows serious dancers the opportunity to get involved, perform on and off campus, and compete. Between pep rallies, open houses, dance showcases, assemblies, competitions and other seasonal performances (games, shows, etc.) – these dancers work three days a week on their technique, choreography skills, and dance in general. Aside from performing given choreography, another skill that is developed through Dance Team is how to collaborate to create choreography that they perform at many of these events.

The Varsity team has won several awards including the 2018 Mid-Atlantic Pom and Dance Association Division II Grand Champions award.

The LHS Pom and Dance Team is part of a long tradition at Linganore, it consists of young ladies from grades 9th -12th living in Frederick, Maryland. Many of the young ladies have participated in Poms since they were little and they now give back by helping coach the same squads they were once members. The ladies spend most afternoons working hard to prepare new routines to perform at all home football and boy’s basketball games, as well as work hard to participate during the competition season. The squad is currently lead by captain Lizzie Hall, and Co-Captains Avé Boghosian-James, Maddy Spisso and their coach Michelle Richardson. We would like to thank all of the parents, family, and friends that have helped this season be such a success. Best of Luck to all those performing today!

GO LANCERS!
