Technology, Media, and Design

I have been teaching middle school in Prince George's County since 2000. I have a Bachelor of Science in K-8 education and a Master's of Science in Instructional Technology. Aside from teaching classes at James Madison, I am the Design Department Chairperson and the Engagement and Technology Lead. Outside of JMMS, I write curriculum for the Media Arts department as well as serve as a Teacher Leader for both the Media Arts and Career and Technical Education (CTE) departments. I also run teacher workshops for the Maryland Center for Computing Education (MCCE) and Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE). I am a member of ISTE and CSTA and have presented at both the CSTA and Summer Pathfinders conferences. When not participating in these activities, I take classes in Java, Java Script, HTML, CSS, and Python. You can also find me on the bike trail, reading books (mysteries and historical fiction are my favorites), drawing, gardening, and hanging out by my backyard pond.
