Travis Ivey

My name is Travis Ivey. I am a native of NW Washington D.C. I graduated from Riverdale Baptist School in Upper Marlboro, MD. I attended the University of Maryland at College Park on a Full Athletic Scholarship (Football) and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in African American Studies. I was blessed to have a brief career in the National Football League, where I played for the Cleveland Browns and Oakland Raiders. Soon after I received my Masters Degree in Human Resources Development from Bowie State University. I am an advocate of increasing the social capital in young people, allowing them to not only dream big but to develop a strategic plan to reach those dreams. After working min HR, I decided on a career change. Training and development was great, but I found myself not fulfilling the affective part of my ego. All my life I have worked with young people and it was only natural to make the transition into pedagogical education.
