This is my 28th year teaching ICAL at Heather Hills Elementary. I will be teaching 4th and 5th Grade ICAL for the 2024-25 school year. I love having the opportunity to teach the students how to speak new languages and about cultures from around the world! I earned my BS degree in Elementary Education and a BA in Spanish from Slippery Rock University. I studied abroad in Toledo, Spain and Mexico City in college. I earned my Masters Degree from Johns Hopkins University in Gifted Education and Administration and Supervision. I was recognized with the Meggy award from the Maryland Educators of Gifted Students in October 2021 and the Bowie Excellence in Education award in May 2017.
I am married and have two children, an 18 year old son and an 16 year old daughter. I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling. We had an amazing trip to Paris, and celebrated New Year's 2024 and 3 King's Day in Spain with my sister and her family. Some of my most memorable travel experiences have been seeing the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France, exploring Venice, Florence and Rome, Italy, relaxing on the beaches of Barbados and St. Lucia, visiting Toronto and Niagara Falls in Canada, and my many trips to explore the country of Spain.
