The International Thespian Society (ITS), founded in 1929, is an honorary organization for high school and middle school theatre students located at more than 4,600 affiliated secondary schools across America and abroad. The mission of ITS is to honor student achievement in the theatre arts.

Eleanor Roosevelt High School's Troupe #2259 was originally chartered on August 17, 1993, and was reinstated and brought to life again in the spring of 2017.

Students may gain membership to the International Thespian Society through participation in ERHS Theatre productions and activities. Membership requires the student earn 10 ITS points and a minimum 2.5 GPA. Each point represents 10 hours of quality participation in ERHS Theatre Department productions or activities.
