Special Education

Eleanor Roosevelt High School’s Special Education Department operates in alignment with the county’s mission of providing specialized instruction and related services to children and students with disabilities.

We work diligently to ensure that the rights of students with disabilities are protected, while providing ongoing support to parents, guardians, and families of children and students with disabilities.

In addition to our students and families, we work to support all educators in understanding disability and the diverse learning needs of all students.

The Special Education Department supports the county’s vision of providing a continuum of services where diversity is honored, and all students are fully engaged in a program of instruction that is universally designed for learning.

It is our mission to develop and foster a school culture and climate that is both supportive and sensitive to the needs of diverse learners.
