The 2025-2026 school year marks my 10th year as the Media Specialist at Clinton Grove Elementary School and I love my job!

I received my undergraduate degree from Virginia State University (GO, Trojans!) and my graduate degree from University of Maryland University College.  I have three incredible adult children and have lived and traveled throughout the U.S. and Europe. When I'm not reading, I am also a professional photographer.

My love of reading started early on. My mother worked at the Library of Congress before she became a teacher.  So I guess you could say, I was born to love books!

My philosophy for my library is simple. As a school librarian, I wear many hats .  But my mission is to ensure that all students regardless of socioeconomic status or ability levels have access to an up-to-date school library that is welcoming and equitable.

Students deserve a knowledgeable, qualified librarian who recognizes his/her influence and uses his/her enthusiasm to create free thinkers.

Students should be aware of their presence in a digitally-connected world and all of the related responsibilities.

I believe students should see themselves as an extension of the library - carrying with them the skills and values they have learned into college, their careers, and ultimately for the rest of their lives.
