What is the National Honor Society?
The National Honor Society (NHS) is one of the most well-known and respected student organizations in American high schools, with more than 1.4 million members. Its mission is to recognize students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, and character. NHS also encourages academic achievement, inspires students to serve their communities, and helps develop strong leadership skills and positive personal values.

The National Honor Society is built upon four main pillars; all members of the National Honor Society are expected to exemplify the following.
Scholarship — Commitment to academic growth.
Service — Dedication to helping others and improving the community.
Leadership — Setting a positive example and guiding others.
Character — Showing integrity, responsibility, and strong ethics

Service is one of the four main pillars of the National Honor Society. The Charles Herbert Flowers HS chapter of NHS is dedicated to providing service to not only the school and administration, but also the community through events, including but not limited to:

Annual Senior Signing and Career Day

Every October, National Honor Society in collaboration with Red Cross host a blood drive to save lives and give back to the community.

National Honor Society hosts and organizes an annual event celebrating the current and future success of the graduating class.

National Honor Society hosts a clothing drive, collecting and organziing lightly used apparel to donate to the less fortunate.
