Inspiration

In late November, we met to discuss which new story might we tell.

We divided in groups to narrow our options.

EXPLORATION

In December, we pieced together everyone's ideas to form a story about kids who are at a campsite, are teleported to different worlds, and return home, wondering if it was all real.

In January, students divided in groups to write each scene.  They improvised dialogue before writing down their ideas.

Elevation

With a draft of songs and scenes in place, we began memorizing, blocking positions, and creating and learning choreography.  This took most of April and May.

Assessment

We knew we were ready to share with you when

• We knew our lines.

• We could improvise when needed to help tell the story.

• We could move and dance in ways that match the music and the scene.

• We could be independent in behind the scenes responsibilities (costume changes, mic switches, setting up and cleaning up, etc.)

• We are proud of our product and our process.
